Lille's gaffer would be great but why would Galtier leave the Champions of France, forget about CL and join EFC? We need a lot of cash for that to happen. Convincing him about our project will be tiresome.

If he brings Zeki Celik with him, that would be swell too.
Might be news to you mate but he's already left them.
And why ? Becuase they are so skint that they are about to sell half the team.

Gerrard was a bad wind up suggestion and is my most hated sportsman but Benitez isn’t far behind in terms of being a joke. How can you justify someone who literally called us a small club (however much he’s tried to back pedal).
I’ll be genuinely gutted if we get him. Losing Carlo made me feel betrayed, but replacing him with this clown who talked like we were beneath him would be devastating.

Galtier looks the one for me.

Again, that was 15 years ago. To me it’s mental any blue would want a washed up old manager who flopped in China to manage us - especially one who is a legend to the RS
Couldn't give a toss about his relationship to the RS, to many bitter twisted fans at this club. If he wants to manage us he would give his all because he's a winner and that's all I care about. Did he flop in China? in all seriousness did he even give a hoot at China, we all know it was a lottery win, we would all do the same. Time Duncan cut his teeth at a club then after this appointment ends he will be ready to take over, at least its a long term plan in my eyes. But everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess. Peace out

In terms of who we want as fans, I think it just comes down to how big a risk you think it's worth taking. For me, of the candidates who've been banded about (and realistically I struggle to see those names being too far wide of the mark) the two with the biggest potential upside are Galtier and Potter. The flip side is that they're also the two with the least 'pedigree', at least in PL terms, and so probably the biggest risks. Most of the others would be seen as safer appointments, and there'd be less risk involved, but in my opinion probably less reward too. It all boils down to whether you think the club should gamble on someone improving their record/taking to the PL, or plump for a tried and trusted manager who might get us punching our weight but won't necessarily take us any further. Personally I'm leaning towards the former, but I can understand why people are looking for a crutch.

If I was Everton, I would be waiting to see if Tottenham were pursuing our top target. I would sound said target out with an initial inquiry and wait on how Spurs search shakes out, as we've been burnt in that aspect several times before.

In the interim, I would be leaking everyone not really under serious consideration to the press so as to not create false expectations or hype with the fanbase until it's looking good for appointing said target...

....Welcome Mark Hughes

I think we need someone who'd be absolutely ecstatic to join and in doing so, bring energy and commitment. Someone who the fans can relate to.

But then I also think we need someone with credentials - someone who has won titles to give us some belief and hope he has it in him.

The two almost cancel each other out, but we can't sacrifice point 1 for point 2.

Ancelotti was forever calling out our frauds for lacking commitment, but commitment has to come from the top and evidently, it was lacking.
Paras 1 and 2 are correct and not mutually exclusive.

The answer is Christophe Galtier.

Im not really bothered about the small club comment to be honest. When you are manager of a club of course you slate your rivals. Belittle them in anyway possible... Its nothing personal.

Much more bothered about his lack of success in the last decade to be honest... Though I think he would leave us with a solid balanced side.

I have a red mate who said that if we get Rafael, he would actually not hate us anymore.

Thats reason enough to stay clear.

Mclaren left them out of the relegation zone. Benitez took them into it.
They were in it but with a game in hand. He took them down from a position he could have easily kept them up

He’s not a winner though is he? When was the last time he actually won anything?
He’s awful and out of date.

Not sure, I don't know enough about him. Will fans relate to him? Talking most fans here, not the Vítor Pereira hipsters on social media.

And I said titles.

When the going gets tough, winning one Ligue 1 will hold as much as Martinez winning an FA Cup.

If Marco Silva delivered what Ancelotti did, I want him sacked. A manager with credentials in the game pipes the likes of me down.
