I really hope that the 3 draws haven’t persuaded them to give him more time and they are making moves. If they're not prepared to sack dyche yet , which would be disappointing , pressure needs to be applied, no new owner wants to deal with the optics of fan unrest especially after what has occurred recently with roma
Well, that was certainly a short honeymoon period wasn’t it?Lack of action is concerning to say the least. Plenty here were assuming there would be a rapid clean sweep of the club, yet they didn't even have a CEO ready to start work.
They've had months of scoping out the state of the club, time to discuss plans with both Thelwell and Dyche. So far we've only heard from Dyche who told everybody he hadn't had a single conversation with them prior to them taking control, and a mere casual dinner with light conversation afterwards.
I refuse to believe these people are prepared to sit on their hands and watch their investment go odds-on to get relegated this season. If you have funds to spend hundreds of millions to take control of a club that's in deep peril, you also need to know there will be further money needed to replace the failing manager and bring in players at the first opportunity.
They simply had to have budgeted an extra £20-30m minimum for the first 2 months of their ownership to sort out these issues.
4 points from our next 4 games isn't going to improve our odds of staying up greatly, and let's face it absolutely nobody is looking at these fixtures and thinking we can even win one of them. They are all expected defeats, every single game.
Any new manager needs time to assess the squad and work with the DoF to bring in players, and that time is right now.
The next week will tell us all we need to know about these new owners; either they're ambitious and want to see us playing in the Premier League next season, or they are chancers prepared to gamble on our entire future as a football club on the basis of having a fantastic stadium to fall back on.
It's a well-thought out post that merely highlights what they need to be doing and how they'll be judged.Well, that was certainly a short honeymoon period wasn’t it?
It will certainly be an interesting couple of weeks. They have spent hundreds of millions on a new asset, which in a few short months could lose half of its value. Surely they do have to act on that pretty soon. I will find it very strange if they don’t.It's a well-thought out post that merely highlights what they need to be doing and how they'll be judged.
I certainly hope they'll act swiftly to replace the manager and will be a huge success at Everton. We'll know within the next week or two what their ambitions are for the club.
There is no jumping to conclusions, bar a comment suggesting a concern that they haven't immediately made moves to get a head start for January.
There is still plenty of time to sort it.
Deffo. They've hopefully learned big lessons from Roma that they won't repeat here. They're proven successful businessmen and these type of people aren't huge risk-takers when it comes to amounts of money like this.It will certainly be an interesting couple of weeks. Surely, they have to twist. They've a big decision to make haven't they. Stick or twist. Sticking is no guarantee of anything, certainly not survival, it's a risk. Twisting at least gives a fresh perspective and if we are honest it's not hard to do better, I think a new manager at least gets us scoring goals, maybe not prolific but it's hard to see anyone having them score less.
It's disgraceful what he's serving up, proper embarrassing way to play. We may not have a top six squad but it is comfortably better than what he is getting from them. His record speaks for itself, 3 wins and with goals few and far between. Not good enough is it, by any stretch of the imagination.
Then the style of football or lack of...Shameful.
I really hope so. I've said a lot that they're lucky that in this day and age, fans generally still go to the game despite what is happening.Surely, they have to twist.
Yes, it's a risk, but sticking is an even bigger risk with the possibility of dire consequences...
A bit disappointing that apparently your American cousins didn't show your commitment and cba making the trip over for their first home game. I'm sure that you could have helped them with directions.I think its inevitable in the next week or so for the friedkins to make their move to replace dyche , initially with dyche papering the cracks with draws against better and the friedkins preferring a more tranquil takeover than creating waves but with dyches unwillingness and inability to try to win games it has to occur especially if reports about dyche nixing some of thelwell's recruitment suggestions are true as dyche cannot have any say on recruitment for the future as he is a relic of the past
