I can understand some peoples hesitancy due to the only apparent requisite for previous board members was either being a local or an Evertonian. However, it makes sense for the Friedkins to have the likes of Bell and Downing on the board as non-exec directors.

They are both successful businessmen in their own right, the fact that they are also Evertonians is a bonus. Obviously the overriding factor for any board member is their experience and qualifications however, being life long Evertonians Bell & Downing will hopefully understand fan perspective and sentiment and be able to advise the Friedkins accordingly when and where necessary.

One of the biggest issues they have with Roma is their relationship with the fans, they will surely want to do all that they can not to repeat the mistakes they have made there.

In addition, Downing is a successful property developer and if we are seriously looking at buying land around Nelson Dock and developing it then his background and experience would be a huge positive.

Agree with all but the last. That's like having a wife and a girlfriend, just to get a second opinion on everything important.

Yes, get rid of all the experience. You are being daft.
The experience that has lead us to win absolutely nothing in nearly 30 years, brought us massive debt, point deductions, yearly relegation battles and to the brink of administration.

@Bob Elstone is spot on, clean sweep is the only way forward which is exactly what Friedkin group will do over a period of time.
