I can only presume that the poster was trying to suggest that if Coleman's contract expires at the end of the season ( as reported ) that Coleman is able to exercise an option to extend for 12 months.

It's possible but I've never heard this rumoured or suggested before.

Yeah, that sounds like a clause on a property lease contract or a service levy agreement, not something that would be added to a player's contract.

If anything, the clause would be to extend the contract at the club's discretion, not the players.

I stand to be corrected, but I think in the old versions of that PC game 'Football Manager', there was an option to do something like this when you signed new players?

Can see him wanting to do something in football still but for me looks like a player with pride. Like baines if he feels he is not up to the level anymore be shocked if he carries on

If you’re correct then it certainly puts some perspective on a particular poster and their strange grasp on normal contractual workings, risk and legality.

Think the jury is very much out on TFG and appointments to the footballing Dept mate. I haven’t been enthused by what they’ve done at Roma on that score. But I’m also open minded.

Much more impressed with their investment and his they have recovered the business. Which in itself allows a margin of error.
