Very true but nice to see a footballing statistic of historical achievements that don’t just start from August 1992.. I sometimes wonder how many people believe Association Football only started then.

Like someone just posted an awful lot of those trophies on that list were simply purchased rather than won. Especially the previous occupants of a certain “shed end and Kippax stand” …

Trophies are the measurement of ultimate success. But sometimes success is staying up against all odds with the PL seemingly trying to force you out. Success is turning this season around. If the RS end up winning the league, I wouldn’t say Bournemouth or Forest would consider themselves failures for lack of a trophy.

It's all about expectations. In the Premier League era, I'd say Leicester are the most successful team. The RS and the other money clubs expect to win something - everything - every year so they're usual disappointed in the end. I'd say West Ham fans were the happiest in the 2022/23 season, and we were happier than the RS after we beat Palace to stay up in 21/22, while they ended up with less than they thought they were going to get, so our success felt greater than theirs. They were miserable after missing out on the quadruple that they thought was in the bag.

There's no better feeling than surviving when you think you're done for.

Having said that, I wouldn't mind another bit of silverware before I die.
