So improved income by £14m but £13m of that is broadcasting money. How has that not increased further with it being the final year at Goodison? Probably because they didn’t have a clue how to market it. They’ve just released a range of clothing a few weeks back, season’s nearly over. Hopefully TFG are actually forward thinking and don’t have to rely on TV money to bail us out.
Because this is last year's accounts.

You can't move forward until you stabilise, we have spent the last few seasons in complete

You move forward with progress year on year. We have a new owner and a new stadium, which should be a catalyst for positivity. Im not expecting miracles.

We have had the stability narrative on and off for years and it’s got us no where.

Let’s not repeat the same monotonous behaviours of the past.

It's a step in the right direction. Lets be honest, we were never going to go from making significant losses to all of a sudden making profits, that doesn't happen overnight and activities on (i.e. league position) and off (transfers) the pitch haven't been that different between 2022/23 and 2023/24.

In terms of PSR and the rolling 3 year period, we are dropping one year where we made a loss of £120m and replacing it with a loss of £53m. Obviously we don't know exactly how they are calculating the actual PSR results but things are improving.....even though it might make grim reading.

2020/21 - Loss - £120m

2021/22 - Loss - £38m
2022/23 - Loss - £89m
2023/24 - Loss - £53m

I doubt our new owners are planning for stability.

It's new to us but the finer details under the bonnet won't have been new to TFG and it's a case of ploughing ahead with the reforms needed across all areas of the club to make us competitive and provide upward stability on all fronts.

My take on the summer to come is that this is the beginning of the reshaping of the squad which obviously won't be done in one window.

I expect plenty of activity with a focus on younger players and deals that would hopefully look very smart after a short period.

I'm expecting numbers, and creativity in how they go about making the additions, but not a big splurge. Moyes seems to be happy enough with whatever parameters have been set and that's ok by me.

These numbers only matter in the context of us being in PSR compliance, which we are.

Otherwise, they're fairly meaningless.

The ownership change will restructure the balance sheet and reduce interest expense for half of 24/25.

Then when we roll into 25/26, we will be in BMD where we should see increased revenues, in addition to other work done by TFG.

And hopefully adding a decent Naming rights deal to the mix.

FWIW I agree, we need to walk before we can run. I'm sure TFG will resolve the underlying financial issues and their causes very swiftly. They don't want to be investing - either their own money or that of others - without seeing exponential benefits. Of course there will be some short term pain but, hopefully, within two or three seasons we will have a wholly competitive Club again.
