Stadium boxed up and ready to be delivered to SC.

I've said before on this thread, though is unlikely given the rather tight plot on the docks, that I'd like to see a stadium where a host of entertainment, hospitality and retail units are harmoniously built into the stands themselves, with the pitch at the centre. I always picture a cross between the O2 and GCHQ (The Doughnut), but it would need a lot of land to achieve it.

that's just a big f*cking roundabout.

Not into that myself.
I would like something similar to the Allianz Arena
Blue seats
Pitch entrance on the halfway line
Double tier all the way round
Each stand named after club legends
60,000 capacity
Big pitch
Fans as close to the pitch as legally possible
I didn't mean the particular design, but more the idea of incorporating units into the stands whilst maintaining the basic concept of it being first and foremost a football ground.

Hello Mr Meiss, I know the club have asked for a hybrid between a modern and traditional stadium, but as a fan I think you should ignore them and build a shopping mall, cinema and casino's into its infrastructure.

This thread will get to it's 7 millionth page before we actually move

This really!

Not been reading this lately, but is there any sign of anything at all ever being spoken about, announced or any suggestions things are moving in the right direction?

Or is it the usual old Everton blag which we have become so accustomed to?

Whats your problem? Is this not a forum for people to discuss their ideas and thoughts? With this particular thread for discussions on a potential new stadium for the club, people have the right to put across those ideas and thoughts without somebody like yourself being so dismissive while in no way adding anything constructive or of value to the conversation.

@The Cowboy thoughts on the stadium are in fact very valid and have a basis in the ideas of Dan Meis and how he sees future stadium developments. He has spoke at length about flexible stadia and the need for full integration of a sports stadium in it surroundings and making the best of extended use, through a number of different formats.

This is the bit that will put it on another level for me, if the stadium can be put to use throughout the year this will do wonders for our coffers, the area and the city in general and at the same time raise the clubs profile.

Meis Studios had involvement in the Staples Centre, which is the worlds highest earning arena, as well as one of the most technologically advanced. I'm fairly confident that this will partly be behind the reasons he won the tender for this project. Moshiri has mentioned on numerous occasions our need to increase income, making the stadium work for us has potential to be a huge part of that.

Was it even tendered?

I thought it was just commissioned

I don't know. But fairly sure other Architects would've been considered. Could even have been a design competition, which may explain why @The Esk has mentioned the existence of models way before models would traditionally of been created.
