They've just erected the Bill Kenwright statue atop the main stand, overlooking the ground at a slight 25-degree. The royal blue lights facing the statue will mean 40,000 fans inside the stadium will be able to see the man who single-handedly enabled Everton to make this historic move.

....design is striking, but I do think the location is the key attribute. That stadium will look so much more iconic on the waterfront than on the East Lancs Road. It’s what a founder member of this league deserve.

This is the key point for me though, the thing that gives it it's biggest plus. It can only be ours, and it can only be at the docks. It just wouldn't work anywhere else. If anybody sees that, even as a silloutte once it's built, it's instantly ours. We're a unique club with a unique history. We deserve another unique home.

We were at the forefront of stadium design throughout our history. This new stadium is placing us back where we belong at the forefront of stadium design. We just need a team to match, which hopefully the added revenue this stadium will generate, will allow us to compete again.
