New Everton Stadium

Exactly what I thought. Oh and the huge home end we have, is the 5th biggest.... Blank canvas and they still come up short.

Two of the ones that are bigger are both Utd’s, so 4th biggest in the list of clubs.

Bigger than Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Chelsea. And it’s not just about capacity, maybe ours is steeper and closer to the pitch.

Moaning for the sake of moaning.

I dont have a problem with 52k either. In the next few years, eventually with streaming becoming more accessible I can see the FA and the Premier League dropping the 3pm broadcasting rule. Eventually, its only going to be the hardcore fans at the match and the casuals will stay at home to watch. Is 60k sustainable with future developments in watching the match? I dont think so. 52k will be good enough. Safe standing when introduced will also see that figure rise to 60k if needed.

Don't forget - With the tories in charge we won't be able to afford putting the heating on - never mind spunking out £100 for 2 hours entertainment

52k is plenty

The problem is, when the price increases come in, a LOT of people will be getting priced out of going the game and the price increases will come, how else is the stadium getting paid for AND us still having money to spend on players?

52k is fine for me.

I think it looks magnificent. Said it ages ago, who compares the capacity of the Sydney Opera House to the NEC? (Or whatever its called these days).

Even Mrs R, who has zero interest in football, thinks its a fabulous looking building.

So planning has gone in on time with what looks like a fabulous stadium; all those who said it would never happen have one fewer brick to build their case upon. I'm sure they'll move on to saying that the money won't be there to build it; after that it will be something else maybe the wrong type of grass?

Given it's Christmas why don't we try and put all the hate and misery behind us and start to be optimistic; new manager, money to spend on the team and a new stadium (on the way). Good times to look forward to!

Don’t worry about it not being as big as other stadiums, 52,000 is still a big stadium (and it’s probably a bigger capacity than been available to you for more than 40 years.)

I remember the good old days when people used to celebrate actually getting a full house of over 50,000 four or five times a season, nowadays idiots (who themselves may only go to a game a few times a year?) use not getting a full house as a stick to beat you with.
