New Everton Stadium

Match day income will be £43.28. The most we could have got at Goodison is £23.82.

That's interesting, can I just ask where you got your figures from? I can remember reading some projections, but can't remember where, or if there was a full breakdown.

Of course that's also GP at current total and corporate capacity (and level of amenities). That has to be offset against comparative costs for achieving the same capacity and same offer at GP. For instance, LFC could argue that they've got to 61k with far greater yield for less than £200m (<£150mstadium construction cost). If Moshiri's recent figures of approx £750m are correct, I'm not sure where that balancing point now lies.

Also, I can remember West Ham publishing similar projections for their move, only for their matchday income to actually drop slightly despite almost doubling capacity. They had to charge buttons to fill the place.... that said, I think they've started to see a decent increase in matchday income this year.

Is there sufficient price elasticity of demand for our fanbase to meet those projections? We don't have the luxury of a stadium for nothing... so it would be interesting to see what those actual numbers would be.... including for your rental idea.

I was being sarcastic, Tom. I made them up. I'm assuming EFC have made the right move in moving to a new stadium and am very excited by it and it will massive sense financially. You seem to think they should have stayed and it won't be a success. As much as I have reservations about what has happened on the pitch since The Mosh took over, re. the ground move, I'm all in.

I am also very excited by it, but I learnt a very long time ago to avoid making assumptions based on little or no information, to always air any reservations I may have as a result.

We've already had the money-no-object approach on the pitch. That took us to the bottom of the FFP league and almost the bottom the prem too. The same decision-makers are presiding over this project..... and at no point have we seen how it all adds up, other than we've a rich owner and even richer backer who can throw more cash at it to get it over the line. The financial loan deal collapsed months ago, our rich backer is now under sanctions and the costs appear to have escalated. The variables in the viability equation have moved all over the place, and to be honest they were never demonstrated in the first place.

Yeah, they'd have to rip the roof apart spoiling the very design of it. And if those additional tiers aren't overlapping to a degree then they're gonna be a long way away from the pitch. Buy some air rights over the UU site and expand the North backwards looks the obvious upgrade but would there be enough room there for the additional seats/facilities while keeping it open for circulation?

There just seems no easy way of increasing capacity except for the standing ratios.
That’s it exactly. The North end looks the obvious place. Other than that very difficult to add extra space.

The Bootle End was designed to accomodate the lack of depth available due to the requirement to make the City End the size we/they wanted. If/when the water treatment works is moved or the site is downsized I cant see that stand being made bigger.

The SA had a spin through the site a month or two back and were told any increase in capacity will be in the West and East stands.
