New Everton Stadium

...the Reds will get a petition up to block it. No doubt about it. Not sure on what grounds or under which group but I think they will.

How mate? Like if they invent some spurious planning objection, for example, then we just counter it. From what I have seen, funding is in place, or available, there is progress on a site, the Mayor has made good noises, and Esk said that progress has been made on plans and models and that.

Dont think Moshiri would have cobbled all that together on the off chance that it might happen.

....I'm confident Moshiri will have all bases covered but I just get a feel that there could be some organised local objection. Hopefully it will be without substance but if there is any grounds to object I wouldn't be surprised if they do. This view isn't based on any knowledge, just a gut feeling that there is an element in the City who will not want this.

they can object but look at it from the local authority's point of view, they can have a third party throw shed loads of cash at regenerating an important public facing sector of the city, improving the image of the city for next to little cost to the council. I cant see many objections being upheld

....yep, and it looks like Moshiri is playing a blinder doing all the work to make it happen out of the public debate. I still wouldn't be surprised if there was an organised objection.

I've got it!! Never mind a dock/waterfront stadium, we're gonna build an island slap bang in the river and we're gonna have a massive fleet of hover boards ferrying us to the game, the mersey will be flooded with the tears of RS everywhere.

You have seen BTTF 2 haven't you mate? They don't work on water, duh!

You could offer to build 100 free social houses on the site of an old landfill and somebody would object because they like the smell of burning litter.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Some of their bitterest fans might but why would the club itself be bothered? Going waaaay back they turned down the Kings Dock before we were even sounded out about it and we subsequently messed up ourselves over that fiasco nothing to do with the RS trying to stop us. They always wanted to redevelop Anfield or move onto Stanley Park.

Money no object i'd still prefer us to stay and redevelop Goodison - we should lock Moshiri in a room with Tom Hughes and Trevor Skempton and see what they come up with. :)
