The Euros thing is kind of an advantage and a disadvantage r.e. sponsorship. Unless the sponsor is also a UEFA sponsor (and maybe even if it is), the name won’t be mentioned.Similar to the approach to finding a buyer, I wonder if appointing a consultant like Deloitte to source interest in the naming rights is a good approach instead of waiting for one interested party to just show up.
Having your company name associated with an illustrious PL ground is worth a lot more than a shirt sponsor because it gets spoken about. Where the game is played is mentioned by tv, radio presenters, journalists and punters in a way that is not done with shirt sponsorship.
This stadium will be used for the next Euros so that adds something and the fact the name will be new and not competing with a place name already fixed in the mind.
