New Everton Stadium

I regrettably just listened to parts of his pod cast that was released last night, he was comparing season ticket holders choosing their seats via loyalty to that of people who go the same butchers "they should pay a premium to chose their seat".

Esk and Andy also got a private investigator on a few blues who actually provide inside information, including their family members.

Really don't even understand how this guy is a mod on here.
Enough with the personal attacks.

And with respect, and I do mean respect, the audience numbers for TalkingtheBlues don't support your view that his views reflect badly on either of us.

I think the focus on quantity over quality in this response says it all really about anyone who runs a podcast on any topic. That would be all anyone needs to know.

We should be expecting to challenge the top six. I mean, otherwise, what's the point?

For what it's worth, I thought we should have built a 60,000 capacity stadium. We need to be thinking in terms of the great Everton of the 1980s or 1960s, and the great club of tradition. I think what we have built is going to prove too small in the future when, if the club is properly run, we should be stalwarts of the top half once more with genuine hope of winning cups and playing European football seriously.

Otherwise, we should have stayed at Goodison, embraced our decline, and comforted ourselves with history.

But, regardless, if the Friedkins are serious - and anybody they eventually sell to are serious - they'll come up with a solution to expand when it's really needed. For now, I will enjoy our new home. It's magnificent.
I thought it would have been better to hit 60k for a capacity at first. When I saw the design for the first time I knew the way the roof was designed that it made expanding in the future a much more difficult thing to do, and would cost huge money for to gain very little in capacity.
I really like how it looks and look forward to watching a game without having to keep looking left and right around a pillar or two that block my view.

Excellent post.

Dan Meis has done a wonderful job and he will forever be held in high esteem on the blue half of Liverpool. However, the idea that you simply CAN'T disagree with the club's talking points re: capacity because Dan has done a great job... is fatuous.

People can grumble about capacity, it's just how you do it. The Esk took almost delight in telling us we were about to fold numerous times, now it looks like we might be okay, it's 'the club didn't think large enough'.

He knows more than most if we added 200 odd million to the bill, would we have got that outside investment to finish it that it appears we struggled to get as it was? Would TFG, Textor etc. still been interested in buying the club with that extra debt if we did?

Also there would have been a possibility of not gaining planning consent when we did due to the taller structure. If that happened we might not have even started building before covid really started to bite, in terms of inflation and the war in Ukraine. Would we have mothballed the project at that point if that had happened?

It seems to me Paul has taken a position of negativity similar to Stefan Borson and other type media personalities, as that generates the most views, comments etc. The level headedness and balance goes out the window and we are left to click bait quotes that the loudest group of Evertonians can tub thump in agreement to.

Our lot will be knackered with this walk, gonna need to be DycheFit!

This gives the Feels Though💙

Christ that’s some bloody walk that. I’m amazed it’s that far tbh. Probably have ½ the team out injured having slipped over in their studs on the way to the first warm up.
Beginning cracked me up too, going round in circles, probably a Keggers eye view trying to figure out where he is.
