New Everton Stadium

That would be very very nice

He's compromised at every turn. No principles whatsoever. Always pacifying the client.

For £700M we could have got an iconic stadium from HKS.

As it stands we have a very striking stadium roof + a world class location.

This could have been a hell of a lot better. It's not an act of betrayal to say that either. You have to speak your mind on these matters.
Utterly livid that the Stadium you said would never happen is nearly done.

Frothing.

Just realised you'll be able to swap seats with someone you know to a completely different stand for a game or even at half time, seeing as the concourse on a given level lets us have access to 75% of the GA seats. A good chance to see a few different views inside the new stadium.
Like the good old days you'll be able to swap ends at half time (to a degree).

I'm not livid. Far from it.

Take a look at my comments about the stadium setting and how this build looks from some angles. It's going to be difficult to screw up the look of a stadium at the water front, and for that reason it's always going to be a very striking stadium.

But I've always been consistent in criticising the hybrid nature of the design. That futuristic roof does not blend in or compliment the industrial architecture of the stadium walls.

That's why I think we have to get the lighting on this stadium perfect. We need to claw back some of the lost ground Meis settled for.

I hope one day they remove those lights and put LEDs behind the barrel cladding so that it can all light up. Still, looking amazing and what a step up for the club.
I was thinking that, but as it's metal sheeting I don't think that would give the effect you're after. It would just create lots of coloured dots rather than lighting up the whole thing

I think the lights are actually better as they are in terms of position, but the beam from them seems to be too narrow. I imagine that will be quite easily changed

Honest to God, the extreme reaction from people if you express any view other than ecstatic reverence for this building is off the charts mad.
