I'd imagine there's more chance of them creating a new platform(s) on one or both sides rather than a new station.

Possibly, yet the fact it is on a viaduct would complicate it, and it would still need significant work to improve access to the platforms.

But this would be an issue along the line, with feasibility studies only identifying the bottom of Pall Mall as a viable location.
