New Everton Stadium

I understand it from some pictures of the inside, the sooner we start to brand it/make it home the better.

Starting with putting a sheet over or painting that divide between the "single tier" home stand blue. Whatever they can do to make it as hidden/immersed as possible.
Corny i know but that mock up someone posted on here with the Leitch pattern on the divide looked simply incredible.
It just worked.

Not for me.

I always thought the most impressive visual of them all was this one;

They moved away from that, to allow the divide for safe standing but with fans it, it'll look much more impressive if it looks like a single wall, rather than tiered. Like so;

Its an amazing stadium. The views are incredible and you can tell that it'll have an unbelievable atmosphere. However, something has got to be done about ensuring its easier to get away at the end of the match because hardly anyone is going to just go along with the stop and go signs 99% of the time in normal circumstances and absolutely nobody will go along with it after a 3-0 loss!
I think of West Ham away and when it’s a combination wall of stewards and police like there from stadium back to Stratford everyone is truly forced to stop..once they up numbers and get police included it will “ work” if that’s what they do….

I think to some extent you have to just accept that on the inside, if you're just looking at a picture of an empty modern stadium , it is going to look pretty generic. Obviously places like Goodison are different with their higgledy piggledy stands built decades apart, but anything all built as one big bowl can be said to look generic, there's just not a lot you can really do to prevent that and I don't really know what it is some people are expecting to see. Obviously we need to add the branding before it's properly home, but other than that yes one stadium full of blue seats can probably be said to look much like another if that's how you chose to view it.

Exactly. It feels very sterile at the moment - unbranded, undecorated. It's a structure rather than a home. That will change, I'm sure. They've got to start adding banners, advertising, livery, etc, to the strucuture to add a wow factor. That sterile, clinical concrete needs to be covered up or decorated. But then, I'm sure they know all of this. The inside right now is a bit like the roof corners - a work-in-progress.

Even like the stairwells, paint them blue, yellow handrails etc, add decals on the walls like the stairs leading up the Bullens etc. Hopefully already in the master plan for the August deadline.

Yeah we went in that invisible wind factory. The bramley moore wasn't letting anyone in and Murphys was rammed.
They've got plenty of room in there but they need to get some decent lager in!

Was quite happy with the Neck Oil tbh. Sank a few of those while my lad was playing footy at the top, near the stage.

I went to the second test event yesterday - I will share some thoughts about my experience (not football related as I wasn’t really paying attention). Shared in here because I want to see if other people feel the same way

Travel in
- arrived on train via Waterloo to Sandhills. Got off at Sandhills no bother, was shepherded out by the Merseyrail staff. Busy but not an issue. Walked to the stadium, took about 10 minutes.
- getting in via the turnstiles was easy, just an open gate, searching bags where appropriate but we walked right through no issues.

Outside the stadium
- impressed, massive and awesome. Doesn’t feel real.
- lots of crowds trying to get in (we were in south, gate 12). but as the Everton way is closed, I imagine these crowds will be eased when it is open.
- getting in was really easy, e ticket worked first time.

Inside - Concourse
- was very busy, even with wide concourse, had to cut through queues to get to our block.
- went for a drink before going up, queues went quickly. Got a donut too, delicious but less food colouring advisable
- really needs more Everton related art/colour. Feels quite sterile/unfinished (that may be because it’s not finished, but a lot to do before we start)

Inside - at our seat (lower south)
- amazing views
- sound system brilliant (almost too loud with their announcement on the trains)
- so big, the photos don’t do it justice. Feels like more than ~50000. I cant wait till it’s full, the atmosphere is going to be amazing. A brief “Everton EVERTON” chant just after the goal was so loud, it’s going to be brilliant. Acoustics work wonders.
- only issue I could find is again feels a bit grey/bland, could do with the concrete being decorated, more Everton stuff. Though I suppose there will be sponsorships etc, so I don’t think a judgement can be totally passed until the season starts.

Travel out (“Evacuated”)
- smooth process, large corridors and lots of doors meant it was very easy to get out of the stadium and again out of the main dock walls.
- we then walked into town to Moorfields. Took about 30 minutes, which in bad weather could be a real pain.

Overall thoughts
Brilliant new home for the toffees, with a bit more personalisation it’ll be perfect. 9/10 would visit again.

note - I was planning on posting some photos but I can’t figure out how 🫣

The bare concrete not just there, but everywhere, is definitely an issue. It needs blue paint at a minimum.

I think they need to run another horseshoe of electronic boards between the tiers (minus the south stand) and use it for club-themed signage rather than advertisements.

They also need to encourage banners. Lots of banners. The 1878s have been making some amazing ones lately, and I think they should come up with an array of them for that super riser wall in the south stand.
