Not convinced personally.

I suspect it's purely down to timings. They needed to get the test events done and a playing surface was an obvious requirement.

Let's assume they'd left the pitch installation until now, chances are they'd struggle to fit all three test events in and be ready for next season.

They're re-using the majority of the pitch construction so it's not a complete waste.

There isn't. This has been the plan the whole time.

I won't pretend to understand why they made that decision, but I know for 100% certain that they're not refurbishing it because of any teething issues etc, it's simply always been the plan.

If Kenwright was still here, he’d have called off the pitch upgrade and just sent the pitch on a cheap trip to the same clinic as Cenk Tosun
