Welcome in LM. Many moons ago when American football started hitting the TV screens over here, a number of people started to support teams. I chose Green Bay Packers. However, after watching two or three NFL games, I decided not to bother. Enjoy your stay here and I hope it lasts longer. Look forward to your posts.
Sorry the American football didn't work out, though I can't blame you. Two very different games. Even a lot of people over here either like one or the other, not so often both.

Yes LM, it's to do with the pace of the games. Our football is perpetual motion. NFL is several seconds of action followed by 10 minutes of nothing happening. Slight exaggeration maybe, but you know what I mean. lol

What you are describing there sounds very much to me like cricket. God I hate that game:dodgy:
Yes kev, you are right. It comes back to an understanding of the game, either via watching or playing. If you understand the game then you understand that when 'nothing is happening' in fact a lot is happening. With this understanding you can look forward to the next phase of play. I played and watched a lot of cricket. Always preferred to 'play' than 'watch' but can only watch now. Really enjoy watching cricket as I know why the delays occur and can look ahead to see if different strategies are successful, or not.
The problem with a new sport is that it takes a lot of time to understand rules and tactics and is usually time we don't have!

I love the NFL but there are so many stoppages these days I have to watch redzone channel. Its a shame the AAF crashed and burned because even though it was minor league football there was only 30 sec stoppages for breaks and 2 min for quarters .

Wilkommen. I'm in Jax so the NFL is dead to me these days, like my football team.

Cubs fan, I'm on the Bears side of it, Indiana grad (we don't need no stinkin' Badgers) but here we can be brothers.

Have we yet done the inevitable pineapple on pizza drill? Yes/No to POP. Declare.

Remember - without fume, there can be no Evertonian brotherhood (or sisterhood). This whole site is ample testimony to that.

NFL created their own nemesis with RedZone. Once you've done two Sundays of RZ, your patience for all the commercials, blather, and other BS in what you've experienced your entire NFL life is nonexistent.
