I felt my last design was good enough to get some more work, and I have done in a way, and I believe if I apply myself more with a decent marketing campaign I would gain more interest, because the clients I have, have all said it is on the back of my design work - and let's be honest who cares about the coding when they take on a designer.

So it got me thinking if I could come up with something better.

Out comes Photoshop, paper and pencil, and a bottle of wine for some creative juices.

This is what I have come up with this evening. It's still got some areas where I can improve on, but I'm fairly pleased with most of it. Opinions are most welcome.

Have changed it to a normal link.

Dylan, if you want to lose that picture so that the screen doesn't need to scroll that would be fine.
 

Not sure about the starry things, looks a bit "girl"-y Facebook-background style.

Definitely lose the tagline.

Is the Wirral the right place? Or do you mean "into the right place", which doesn't really sound that inspiring as a call to action? And ask the next three people you see in the street what a pixel is...
 
Why dont you advertise stuff on disposable coffee cups?

Everyone uses disposable coffee cups.

Ok, thanks for the comments. Not sure I agree with them. Plus I'm not looking for someone in the street to give me a definition of a pixel. It's the leading question, the intrigue.

That's alright, hadn't expected you to for one moment!

I'm a bit of a stickler for word usage anyway. Here's another for free:

"I provide different web design and graphic solutions to businesses and agencies."

means

i) I provide web design and graphic solutions that are different (better) than those of my competitors
ii) I provide varied web design and graphic solutions
iii) Businesses get different web design and graphic solutions from agencies

During a recent related discussion elsewhere, someone posted this exercise as a means of concentrating on one's selling point and value proposition:

To (insert target segment), Nick Toye Studios is the brand of choice that (insert benefit) because (insert difference).

I understand your comments, and advice. But I feel it's a little too corporate, and that's an area I'm not overly keen on. I don't want to be like these guys:

I want to be appeal to designers as well as people who may want a website. That JK site by the way is top 5 in Google for Wirral Web Design. I'm better than that, I'm better than the guy who is number 1.

But I'm really just after visual opinions really. Eye catching, nice graphics. The sparkles are intended to sub-consciously appeal to the female species.

As for the text, well the copy was developed by a copywriter over here in the North West, so it should work.
