New manager

I'd be amazed if only because they already sacked him at Roma. I imagine the Dark Lord nurses a grudge, too.

That said, while I subscribe to the view that it is the next Mourinho we should unearth, not the old lad, it wouldn't be the maddest "statement" signing. Nobody can organise a defence like José. So, the Dyche transition wouldn't be as dramatic as it would be if they'd hired Potter or Roberto Martinez. I suspect he'd back himself to do enough with a good defensive unit already there, more or less, and expect to get more out of the "footballers" in the squad. But I can't see it for the reasons above...

Another currently employed defensive coach who they might have their eyes on is Diego Simeone, who might just fancy a shiny new project at this point. A flight of fancy on my part, no doubt, but when you've seen Herschel Krustofsky bring in Carlo Ancelotti, a boy can dream.

diego sime NO NE

he’s deffo to big for us

Can’t see it being Jose, it would be a big risk of potentially having a relegation on his CV.

But if he did come, that risk of relegation on his CV would be a huge motivation to keep us up.

"I'm in the period of my career to be happy all the time and at this moment playing in European competitions, I am getting upset all the time.

"But I'm not going to fight relegation. It's too hard! Honestly, I believe that has to be the hardest thing.

"It's more difficult than playing for titles. It has to be very hard emotionally, because it's something that changes lives. I think it's brave guys that do it."
