Not saying the mods should be social workers or anything, but one mod on the case might drive the point home in a more effective way and lead to more member staying on rather than being banned.

I think my idea about mentoring would cut down on situations like that, tbh. Each mod would be assigned a group of posters they can establish ground rules with on what is and what isn't appropriate. A sort of pastoral care approach that'd cut down on tension.

This board is going the same way as kipper and nsno.
Mods reducing peoples reps, sily bans, etc because they disagree with their opinion.

im thinking about sacking this board off if I can find a decent one elsewhere.

I'm sorry you feel that way. For the record, the rep has not been reduced by the moderation team, that occurred with the update, and if you read the thread regarding it (http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/53019-Recent-Inaccessibility-Sorry) you should find it all explained there.

As for 'silly' bans, no-one has been banned from here simply for a difference of opinion - you may not always be aware of the reasons for a member being banned however it is usually for a breach of the forum rules, found here (http://www.grandoldteam.com/forum/threads/50520-Forum-Rules-Updated-07-05-12).

Just out of interest.... i see Groucho has been clamping down on the swearing since his promotion, is this a personal thing or orders from above when you were modded?
