or a Soviet Union vs the Mujahadeen one - there are clear parallels between this game and a tiring Red
edifice on the verge of collapse fighting against a bunch of Arab-funded mercenaries

Post of the Day this.

Its the G ob sh ite Derby this.

The whole Sheik worshipping by their fans thing is toe curling. Human rights crimes buried all over the show there.

No matter how much we need investment, I'd hate for that to be us.

Has to be said, they look tidy Man City.

Meh.

To be fair, we'd get tanned by them. But being they always seen to have 9 players behind the ball and all times and relay on the counter - mainly wing play - if you pack the midfield and keep the ball or hit them with pace, they'll fold.

Roy's got it all wrong today, 4-4-2 away from home against a very disciplined five man midfield, it was never going to work, especially with Torres and N'Gog upfront.

City look quite strong, but Liverpool are playing right into there hands.

Mentioned this before.

4-4-2 is just proper wrong against them.

4-4-2 is wrong more often than not nowadays, but Roy's playing it all wrong, two wingers players who stay wide and no natural ball winner in the middle of park.

True.

I think Spurs pulled it off due to genuine pace and out and out wingers right and left. They just couldnt get the goal.

Absolutely.

Hope Kuyt gives Mars Bar head a torrid time.

do we have to start with the crap that the kopites do ? I don't care about the fact that he did what he did, there is no need to go down that route. He sustained the facial scar in an incident when he was a child and it isn't really something to take the piss about.

I speak as the parent of a 7 year old that has a scar that goes 1/3 the way around his head, and if I ever heard you saying it within earshot then I swear I would stripe you so that you would know what it feels like to have people stare and comment.

It's a shithouse comment to make and one that you would have been up on arms about when the shabs sang their bilge.

Pace and alot of variety in midfield and attack. Crouch can hold the ball up for them, so they've got a platform to build on. That and it was at Home, which is always easier than playing this formation away from home.
