I thought Newcastle United came with a whole stadium full of weapons."It's not right we can sell weapons to them but they can't buy our Football club? Hypocrisy pet pet pet"
FWIW I think this will likely go through at some point. Not sure on the level of investment mind. More just enjoying the toon fans tie themselves up in knots trying to justify it. Proving very difficult for the lads with an Average IQ of a concussed horse. Imagine a few of them are malfunctioning, especially as they can’t all head down the bigg market to drink bottles of bud and piss in their lasses wardrobe. The longer this goes on, 3 things becoming cemented in my mind,
1) They guy may be a a complete blagger. FSG saw him off. Ashley saw him off 12 months ago and has never seen any evidence of funds to date. I'm not saying he is, but there's certainly a possibility.
2) Saudi are massively scaling back operations. As I said a few weeks ago, the hit to the Saudi economy has been enormous, and will have ripple affects. One Geordie tried to tell me oil would be back to normal. Well weeks later and it's still not. They're probably losing money on each barrel they are digging up, and may be for the next 6 months or more. Imagine if the UK state had to start subsidising farming, universities, banks, hardware, software, financial services etc for the next 6 months. You've still not touched the sides of the size of oil to the Saudi economy. It may be they just pull out (if they were interested to begin with) and take the view, a peripheral investment isn't for them.
3) Sort of linked with 2, they may not pull out, but any spending commitments they may have had just become massively scaled back for the duration of the oil trade war that's coming. Essentially less investment than even Ashley has put in, and maybe a desire to draw money out? Either way, this doesn't look like a regime who are going to be funding any major spend at all, never mind massive spend.
The real funny thing is, without substantial spend and a better manager, they go down next season. Bruce has been massively lucky. They are favourites to be 20th next season. On going down, any interest they had in Newcastle would just dissipate.
