We've officially reached the point in the documentary 15 years on from now where either the Newcastle fans amazingly manage to coerce not only the Saudi's to try and buy it again but also get the Premier League to approve it, thus leading to a decade of glory for The Magpies, or the point where they talk about it being the fan bases worst hour as they made absolute chumps of themselves and nothing came of it until Ashley eventually sold it a few years down the line to someone far less exciting who now has them milling around mid-table but they try and make it some sort of triumphant ending
I eagerly await to see which one it is
Whats funny, is even after months and months of either lying, or being lied to you still don't get it do you? The penny just won't drop.
The PL have done nothing wrong here. They didn't reject the takeover. The buyer pulled out.
It is likely the buyer also stalled the process when asked how they might stop piracy. Rather than putting some (even quite tokenstic) action around it, the buyer doubleddown on piracy and banned an official broadcaster from their territory. The PL would have been well within their rights to just suspend talks then, but again tuck at it and tried to give the buyer time to comply with perfectly reasnable requests. The buyer chose not to.
The stuff about the economic climate doesn't "ring right"? Why? It sounds exactly right, that a buyer, who is clearly intending to take money out, not put money in, and was struggling to match the funds to buy the club (hence the loan from Ashley) have re-evaluated post Covid. The only situation it doesn't make sense, is if you believe the fairytales that have been told to you, by sections of your fanbase about a buyer who wants to pump loads in, They never did. That was never the plan.
At some point you're going to have to wake up, and stop spreading the lies above. Those who have told you the takeover would definitely happen, that Covid made no difference, that they'd never walk away, that only the PL rejecting them could stop it, the countless (10+) times it was about to be completed on good information etc. It's very obvious those spreading that information were talking absolute rubbish. Thats beyond queation now.
On this forum, we have tried to tell the truth, given the information available. Yes it might be hard to take, but at least you wouldnt have got such a nasty shock if you'd have listened. In the end it's the fairest it can be.
The buyer didn't give a damn about Newcastle, forget the words and look at the actions. Spent months if not years haggling over the price, played it all out in public, wanted to borrow money (from Ashley) to pay for their share as they wanted to put so little in, worked alongside a woman in Stavely who has been outed as a complete fantasist and liar and saw it as primarily and singularly an investment. In all likelihood you'd have been worse off than you are under Ashley who have given managers hundreds of millions. Maybe focus on giving him a fair crack of the whip going forward eh?
Restraining orders are worth their weight in Newcastle Brown with wrongun's like him hanging around.I have a sneaky feeling hes single and not allowed near kids
Exactly. The PL didn't stop them which is what most of their fans forget (or don't want to hear).
Demanding answers from the PL who don't have the answers cos they're waiting for answers from the buyer lol
End of the day, PIF jumped ship. They weren't pushed.
Are there any of them who are moderate or sane enough to see what this is? Every fan base has its spectrum of frothing loons to the super rational, but all I'm picking up is the collective howl of a few hundred thousand barcode clad BSE infected cows here. Metaphorically speaking.
So Wraith seems to think that Mike Ashley should storm into the PL offices and demand they let him sell to the Saudi's?
Why would he do that? He's made 17 Million for nothing and now can continue to milk the club for all he's worth with the excuse of "Well, I did try to sell it"
He's like a pig in chardonnay right now
