Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

We've officially reached the point in the documentary 15 years on from now where either the Newcastle fans amazingly manage to coerce not only the Saudi's to try and buy it again but also get the Premier League to approve it, thus leading to a decade of glory for The Magpies, or the point where they talk about it being the fan bases worst hour as they made absolute chumps of themselves and nothing came of it until Ashley eventually sold it a few years down the line to someone far less exciting who now has them milling around mid-table but they try and make it some sort of triumphant ending

I eagerly await to see which one it is

One of the comments

"As newcastle fan and geopolitical term i support Qatar than saudi kingdom. I wanted the deal to go through as nufc fan. Iam gutted premier league is corrupt as Fifa. Not sanctioning takeover wasn't about human rights. Look at relationship between Leicester- China,Chelsea- russia and man city-united arab Emirates. All those clubs are owned by dodgy individuals. Qatar ,Liverpool fc and tottenham fc influenced the corrupted premier league director Mr marshall to prolong and frustrate the deal. He should be investigated for obstruction and favouritism. The rumours are Mike ashley will invest only 30 million in transfer market this summer, which is nothing today's market. Newcastle fc will go down again for the third time , 13 years of bad luck will continue under Mike ashley. "

The crying was funny, but their contorted logic since is just pure Kopite.

The final episode of this documentary will hopefully be them weeping into their discarded tea towels as their relegation is confirmed.

Whats funny, is even after months and months of either lying, or being lied to you still don't get it do you? The penny just won't drop.

The PL have done nothing wrong here. They didn't reject the takeover. The buyer pulled out.

It is likely the buyer also stalled the process when asked how they might stop piracy. Rather than putting some (even quite tokenstic) action around it, the buyer doubleddown on piracy and banned an official broadcaster from their territory. The PL would have been well within their rights to just suspend talks then, but again tuck at it and tried to give the buyer time to comply with perfectly reasnable requests. The buyer chose not to.

The stuff about the economic climate doesn't "ring right"? Why? It sounds exactly right, that a buyer, who is clearly intending to take money out, not put money in, and was struggling to match the funds to buy the club (hence the loan from Ashley) have re-evaluated post Covid. The only situation it doesn't make sense, is if you believe the fairytales that have been told to you, by sections of your fanbase about a buyer who wants to pump loads in, They never did. That was never the plan.

At some point you're going to have to wake up, and stop spreading the lies above. Those who have told you the takeover would definitely happen, that Covid made no difference, that they'd never walk away, that only the PL rejecting them could stop it, the countless (10+) times it was about to be completed on good information etc. It's very obvious those spreading that information were talking absolute rubbish. Thats beyond queation now.

On this forum, we have tried to tell the truth, given the information available. Yes it might be hard to take, but at least you wouldnt have got such a nasty shock if you'd have listened. In the end it's the fairest it can be.

The buyer didn't give a damn about Newcastle, forget the words and look at the actions. Spent months if not years haggling over the price, played it all out in public, wanted to borrow money (from Ashley) to pay for their share as they wanted to put so little in, worked alongside a woman in Stavely who has been outed as a complete fantasist and liar and saw it as primarily and singularly an investment. In all likelihood you'd have been worse off than you are under Ashley who have given managers hundreds of millions. Maybe focus on giving him a fair crack of the whip going forward eh?

Exactly. The PL didn't stop them which is what most of their fans forget (or don't want to hear).

Demanding answers from the PL who don't have the answers cos they're waiting for answers from the buyer lol

End of the day, PIF jumped ship. They weren't pushed.

Yes its hilarious hearing their represenative going on national radio saying its up to the fans to make this happen, like she's some powerless actor in this. Rather than asking the fans to do x,y or z why doesn't she just speak to her consortium and ask them to reconsider? If she wants the takeover to occur, and believes thre's even a glimmer it could do, surely they is the most logical course of action?

It leads me to think (at least) one of these things have happened
1) PIF have completely lost in investing into the PL/Newcastle
2) PIF will no longer talk to Amanda Staveley
3) Amanda Staveley is really stupid and doesn't understand simple concepts
4) Amanda Staveley knows the takeover is over and is going into massive image reputation mode.

I don't think it's number 3.

Are there any of them who are moderate or sane enough to see what this is? Every fan base has its spectrum of frothing loons to the super rational, but all I'm picking up is the collective howl of a few hundred thousand barcode clad BSE infected cows here. Metaphorically speaking.

If you go and read say the Usmanov thread on here, what you say is a fairly rational, sensible debate from all sides really. It's world away from what Newcastle are doing.

So Wraith seems to think that Mike Ashley should storm into the PL offices and demand they let him sell to the Saudi's?

Why would he do that? He's made 17 Million for nothing and now can continue to milk the club for all he's worth with the excuse of "Well, I did try to sell it"

He's like a pig in chardonnay right now

He in particular is massive liar. He should be run out of town by their fan base.

But ok, even if Ashley does that (and I can well see why Ashley would be angry at not being able to sell, the product will be losing enormoys value and may have earmarked the need for the cash) and he demands they let him sell it. Its a very short response to him isn't it? "Well Mike you might want to ask the buyer why they have walked away. We haven't rejected anyone, they have rejected you".

There's no big cover up here. The buyers have pulled out. It happens. It happens frequently if a buyer is a complete blagger. Ashley will know that having been in business.
