Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Has a petition ever changed anything?

"Sir! Quickly! Lots of people were so motivated by this issue they took the time to write their names! We have to change our ways!"
I seem to remember a recent petition regarding an unelected bureaucrat reaching 7 figures.

Pretty sure he’s still in post.

Petitions and this Govt? LMAO.

Why is their gripe with the premier league? Or Ashley? Or the Govt?

Weren’t it the Saudi’s who decided to pull out themselves?

Halfwitted mock jocks the lot of them.

Gripe with Ashley long term obviously, there seems to be a feeling that the PL didn't want to make any form of decision on SA and as such stalled until they packed it in, which if you were desperate for the takeover to happen you would be massively annoyed by their lack of leadership.

PL's bind is if they block SA, what does that mean for existing owners.

PL didnt block anything; they just asked if/who behind 80% of the funding would have direct control of the club, and if so, how.

Instead of clarifying it, Saudis decided not to bother.

Maybe I'm misreading, but my take was very much that the PL did as much as they could to delay, without blocking. Legal ramifications of a block would have been a nightmare for them; but slowing the process seems to be a fudge that worked for the PL, with the saudi's not bothering.

I wouldnt be shocked if they come in again, or look to another opportunity outside PL

You might well be correct. But my reading of it was the PL obviously wanted to know who was really in control, and asked for clarification. That said, I havnt heard the PL actually say anything. The only person breaking radio silence was Staveley, who has been exposed for the blagger she is in a court of law.
