Precautionary? Now that they are completely 100% free from the threat of relegation, I'd rest him too if it meant he had more time to recover for next season. If the Saudi Investment Fund takover fails to materialise, I don't think there'll be any major changes up there and he'll be a key player for them next year.

The man has no shame what so ever.

The irony, is that him and the Geordies are made for each other, it`s just that for some warped reason, they think they have the moral high ground over him :oops:

To be fair, when comparing moral high grounds, it's the equivalent of the Grand Canyon versus the Mariana Trench - technically it's still higher even though it's very low.

Like Everton I think if they did get a take over they wouldnt budge.
Newcastle, as in the place, the North East dosent attract top stars. There was some idea muted years ago about the players and training ground all being in the south but they play in Newcastle at the weekend, but losing contact with local people and communities was seen as a reason why it wouldn't be right.
