Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

With the manager in charge, doubtful! But you get my gist. We have consistently been 50/55+points. I think they are 5 years off doing that.
You are comparing two different entities based on points totals man.

The Everton that got 59 points had a multi million pound manager in charge of a squad that had 500 million pumped into it.

Newcastle nowhere near financially under mike Ashley.

That was kind of my point though. They were a long way off where we were, never mind your Citys.

Leicester
Liverpool
City
United
Everton

That could easily be 20 games / 10pts

Id be quite amazed if it was more than 20 games / 14pts.

For me, i think they need to put in large bids for mid table clubs top players. They probably need 4 top signings to survive.

Would make sense for them to go for Tarkovski from Burnley and Sarr from Watford. Weaken their nearest rivals.

Fair comment.

All the mid table clubs would be stupid to let those players go unless they were safe, had a ready made replacement and were offered well over the odds. I can't see that many top signings unless they pick them up from European teams which is possible but a bigger gamble.

I don't think either of them are good enough to get them the wins they require.

They may weaken rivals but they're going to need to get to 35 points minimum and that looks a long way off right now.

I think they're going to have to spend huge and shop a league above the players you mention.

It's a fair point but would the right type of next level up players go there?

They are level with Burnley and 3 points of Watford. The sum of their ambition this season has to be staying 1pt ahead of those guys.

I don't think they will no although they could possibly throw ridiculous money at it.

Would they offer £100 million for DCL, are they capable of that and could they pay him £250k per week, would that even get him?

I think the fee would, I'm not sure if he'd even go there for that salary but that's what they're going to have to look at doing IMO.
