But if it starts a movement by the PL to make the PL clean from dodgy banks, blood money, Oligarchs and despotic blood soaked human rights abusive regimes of the ME being in Football.

I have (fairly) rational mates who are Newcastle fans. Supposedly left wing. Not a peep from them about all this. No fan movements to highlight the cause for reform or anything. I honestly don’t know how they can do it. None of them give a fat one.

My take on all this is that you have all teams punished or none. What PL owner comes from a state where human rights records aren't appalling or haven't launched murderous foreign wars that have killed millions of people?

Who are the arbiters of that though? As in, are China, the US, Thailand, complicit in nasty stuff?

Your opinion, if you were on the PL board, may well differ from others.

Exactly. It's so arbitrary that it's unfair that some are punished and others go unpunished.

Imagine for a moment, that you're a citizen of Baghdad and you read stories about EPL clubs being turned upside down and disadvantaged because they have links with businessmen whose cash is sourced to Russia - a country that's invaded another sovereign country - but clubs with connections to American businessmen are left alone.

Well, the UK Govt sanctioned a ton of Russians and froze their assets. One of them owned a football club.

On ownership, the die is cast. The PL will welcome anyone, as long as you have the cash. And dont pirate their coverage. Stinks.
