That exactly what the Premier League don't want Independent parties in their business.

Newcastle takeover will be start of the downfall of the Premier League. The fox is in the chicken coop and they will stop at nothing to get their way.
 
Apparently the sponsor was as the result of a competitive selection process. I can only imagine the unlucky non-Saudi bidders were of similar value and very unfortunate to miss out in the end.
 
Even with the big new sponsor there are a number of reports suggesting that they still only have a budget of around £100m going into the CL due to FFP. So maybe not the massive spending some fans first thought.

They're going to be more cautious over the finances, so I would surmise it'll be a slower build yet the eventual outcome will be financial dopping.

It's on a different planet imo.

Sponsorship from a "mate" not tied to the club. A one off £30mill naming right and £6mill a year training ground sponsor that was binned off when he was sanctioned. Both of which are being replaced. Cos Uncle Uzi was dodgy.

Compared to a £25mill a year deal sponsorship deal over many years by an events company owned by the club's owners. Paying Peter to pay Paul.

Difference between a "favourable" sponsorship deal and completely rigging the game.

We all know events companies have the money to pump into football clubs don't we...
