Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

Grim as [Poor language removed] that like.

Openly admitting that you have absolutely no morals at all, yet at the same time also admit if the shoe was on the other foot you'd pretend to have said morals and use the rights of women, LGBTQ+ people etc. As a points scoring exercise, because someone you presumably know (or a faceless bloke on the internet) supports another team of blokes kicking a ball of air around in a game.

The worst of both worlds you. Have some self-respect man.
Can’t believe they posted that as well. Incredible stuff

If the Saudis had pumped millions into Everton and we were able to buy a centre forward or two, the silence would be deafening from the majority of our fans, let's be honest here, footy fans in the main are not arsed what goes on in the next street, never mind in the middle East.

I dunno. City and Newcastle fans before the takeovers had seen zero success for generations so would sell their own mother's for it.

Think while we ain't won a tap for 30 years, we've had a history of success. So I think there would be a sense that some of the fanbase would be far more vocal against it.

Doing 100% what he claimed he never has just 1 post before

It would be very easy for you to show me your human rights activism before October 2021.

Being in the North East, I see lots of posts on my fb feed about Newcastle and by their supporters pages. Multiple have been quite vocal in criticising Bruno already this season but also suggesting he was poor at the back end of last season.

Doesn’t take them long to turn on their players does it. They will be wanting to replace him soon to show everyone they have money (again). One of the best players they have had for 20 years.

Unfortunately you're talking to the wrong lad mate. I'm a big trade unionist, been on plenty of marches, was quite involved in the movement to free Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe etc. Also got plenty of mates who are LGBTQ+. So yes, if Sunderland was taken over I'd guarantee you I wouldn't be off to the match anymore, even if I was in an absolutely tiny minority on that one.

But it's not continuing to support your club that's shocking to be to be honest. I dare say most would do that. It's that you're so morally bankrupt you'd openly admit you'd pretend to care about sportswashing out of pure spite and jealousy if Sunderland were hypotheticaly taken over. The cognitive dissonance you must feel on a daily basis to twist yourself into a position where you can openly admit that on a public forum is incredible.

This is it. Someone posted an article here about atrocities committed by Saudi and a fan responded with a ‘laughing emoji’ Another fan said, continuing supporting the club was like ‘visiting his mother in prison’ lol
I don’t hear fans saying something along the lines of ‘course this is concerning, they’re still my team but issues around this should be addressed’
Instead people have gone weirdly defensive or have chosen to ignore the whole thing. Have seen many ‘left wing’ mates doing exactly this.
Is grim

That's the only thing that gets me.

They've bought well, got a good set up, look a really good team. Hats off to them.

But don't justify the background behind how it came to be. Embrace it and own it knowing it's tarnished.

Just like City's treble win.

They're turning one of the areas behind the goal into corporate, right in the middle.

EDIT: further to this, there were a few articles a few weeks ago about fans being upset about moving from their seats they've had for years.

Only one I can find is this and it no longer works? Wonder why...
