Newcastle Utd (and Viz)

I did wonder about Boro vs Plymouth in the Championship but Google says just over six hours for that.
I've done St James' Park a few times on the away coaches, and it's a minimum of four hours including a stop on route.

Equally, I've done the Vitality and that's five to six hours. Obviously, the route from one to the other may be more direct, but it still isn't six hours - not even close.

Their high intensity play (like the RS under Klopp) has brought the players to their knees literally. Injuries galore and a squad that at the beginning of the season had its depth questioned, has seriously impacted their results. However there is no question their starting 11 is a match for any team in the league, but as we all know you need more than 11 players to compete at the highest level.

Howe won’t last the season. Couple more bad results and the entitled sweats will be calling for his head. Hopefully the owners don’t take this literally.

To be fair ( and why should we be to the Barcodes ) he does have virtually a full team out.

I've driven from Plymouth to Newcastle and I can assure there is no way you can do it in 6 hours.

Assuming no traffic hold ups Plymouth to Birmingham is possible in 3 and a quarter hours ( done that a few times but usually after midnight).

Birmingham to Newcastle another 3and half to 4 hours.

However it would be plain crazy to drive straight through without one lengthy break it a a couple .

A saying I remember from my youth is that: 'you are only as good as your reserves'. Because over a season, you will not always be able to play your strongest team. And that is applicable nowadays with injuries and suspensions. Nobody gave a toss when we had several players out injured (the season when DCL and Richy were out for months at the same time, as well as others). So not a tear from me regarding their injury crisis...
