I`ve seen him a few times, at after dinner events.

He comes across, as a genuine fella and has a genuine affection for the club.

I think a lot of the supposed problems he had, stem from the fact that him and Sharp didn`t get on.

I`ve seen Sharp a few times at after dinner stuff too and he quite often sticks the knife into Cottee - said he was selfish and believed that his only job was to score goals. Sharp never openly said it, but inferred, that he would choose not to pass to Cottee, even when there was a pass on.
