News of Ex Players

....went to the school near me so I remember him playing for England Schoolboys U15. Neil Dewsnip was his schoolteacher back then and I think he’ll miss his input as DoF at Plymouth but I watched Stoke at West Brom yesterday and they weren’t too bad, certainly something to work on.
Yeah definitely potential there, although a concern for me would be managers all seem to fail there recently so you wonder what the environment is like there

I went to Cardinal Heenan..he was 2 years above me. Happy to inform you I also played for their A team...unfortunately I've never reached the heights he has as am currently sat on this forum in skid marked undies eating brie...we all know who the winner is here...that's right ME

….John Welch and Alan Moogan also played for England Schoolboys that season which was some achievement for a single school. My son would’ve been there with you, but I recall watching the Dewsnip team with Sean Doherty and James McEverley in, he was very innovative.

I don’t keep a close check , so who have we got in management who were ex players? Off the top of my head I can think of these, must be more , especially abroad.
Schumacher, Arteta, Rooney, Ferguson, Naismith , Carsely England u21, Phil Neville. David Weir is DoF at Brighton.
Li Tie was. Adrian Heath too. Both out of jobs at the mo but for different reasons.

The team I was in had Mark Duffy ex Stoke and Sheff Utd and numerous other clubs as well as Carl Tremarco who was ex Inverness and Tranmere.

Unbeknownst to alot of people if you excelled at football at a young age,and where from a rough area with poor the schools Heenan would approach the childs parents and offer them the chance to go there and with it being a school of "sporting excellence" the parents most often agreed.

Dewsnip was very influential but alot of the driving force also behind the Sports department was Ste Monaghan who Gerrard cites as a massive influence on his career....he's also a friend of my dad's and a Fantastic fella.

Great school looking back, lucky to go there.
