Not for me at all. I don't buy this rubbish that we're doomed without him. Yes, we're garbage, but not garbage enough in my opinion to need to employ Allardyce. For a Club that does so fantastically well off the pitch and is lauded in all quarters for that it seems absolutely absurd to employ a man at the helm with the morals of a sewer rat. How can he lead a Club on the pitch with his gutteral stench when we have such high standards off it?

The Board need to take a serious look at themselves and see how they are destroying the Club. There's lots of managers available now and in the summer who fit our profile.
Great post.

The best post all night from the Edge.......

We have a chairman who is a liar.
Have an ex jail bird as a coach
A player on the books who has been done for drugs and passing on funny money.
One who not long ago was accused of slapping his Mrs.
One who , used ladies of the night and cheats on his wife.
And that's off the top of my head but all of a sudden we are selling are soul because BFS is coming in?

Listen, I do not want him to be our manager, but I am not going to not support MY club or get behind the club because he is appointed.

Football is a corrupt industry led by corrupt officials.

I salute you for going for over 5 decades but how you can place such significance on the appointment of this man yet (on the face of it anyway) be ok with us having mercenary players is beyond me.

Equally, we had Moyes run down a contract, Martinez demand his full pay packet..they are all the same mate. Sam's fault is he got caught.

lol

With respect, good.

The club need fans who will get behind the club right now.
With respect your belligerent tone illustrates the massive mistake this disgracefully incompetent board is considering making.
Appointing this character as manager when we need our supporters to unite will achieve the exact opposite and will divide us catastrophically. The arguments and unrest on show on these forums will be replayed throughout the ground with inevitable results. I’ve witnessed this before in bad times , frequent violent altercations between fellow Evertonians. But the potential toxicity of this decision is inestimable.

Our fan base split a long time ago.

The best for years was the final thirty minutes against Watford when half the fan base went.

posted this on the Ross Barkley thread cos the conversation was going that way. I'm worried about Sam mainly because we don't seem to have an organisational strategy, something @davek was talking about elsewhere, but I thought of it like this;

It's no coincidence that RM's first year, and RK's first year were both successful. When we lurch from one manager to the other, and they are so different in style, the players are in a transition where they instinctively follow the old habits, while learning new good ones as well.
2013/14: Solid but limited Moyes and 'Attacking' but bad off the ball Martinez = 5th place.
2016/17: Attacking, lose, directionless Martinez + Organised, Solid boring Koeman = 7th place.

I agree that RK dismantled the best attacking hopes, and we were lucky to finish 7th. Some of the play we were criticised for in the 2 11th place finishes - slow, sideways build ups, weak possession football and fragile defence - were still there in RK's first year, but somehow Lukaku and to a lesser extent, Barkley, Lookman, Davies, Bolasie, Coleman at various times won a game here and there.
It's a shame the 2 SF cup runs are discounted as successes, but I agree the playing style had gone stale.
I think we underestimate 2 things -
1 - the possibility that managers are line managed at board level - and sometimes should be reminded of the playing philosophy or 'project'
2 - the influence of good coaches. RM is arguably doing well at Belgium because of an excellent playing staff plus Thierry Henry. His team of coaches is dire. I hope BIg Dunc is actually good, but we should be scouting around for modern, technical coaches who put emphasis on fitness, tactics and getting the best out of players. RK was more a fantasy football or FIFA type manager .

In short, Moyes, Martinez, Koeman and Allardyce are so different that they represent the confusion in our footballing strategy, and that's what bothers me the most.

So you’re suggesting we wait till the summer if a “suitable” candidate can’t be found? I’m not a total doom merchant but nobody can deny there is a definite possibility we could be relegated. Are the board making the wrong decison? If that’s what you feel then it is them who deserve or full ire. Allardyce isn’t doing anything wrong. He’ll just do what he’s very well paid to do. Fair play to him.

And what exactly is our “profile” right now?

Professional sport is corrupt and full of mercenaries. Squealing because our pure virginal club is about to be tainted by a nasty icky man is reality denial writ large.

The kin lot of them will be gorging on pound bakery and juicy kin fruits Ill bet... Blue kin Bill ,Steve what does he do Walsh.Big Fat Sam, Fat Sammy Lee , Duncan useless Ferguson all talking over each other stating how fabulous they are...If the happy clappers saviour doesnt hit the ground running after all he is the best for the job theyll be getting kin pound bakeries lashed at their fat grids....umm maybe not a good idea as theyd kin hoover them up

No mate we are selling our soul going cap in hand grovelling to one of the most corrupt figures in football that has an appalling record in the Premiership and about to get shafted for 10s of millions.
Sorry mate but there are hundreds of Coaches in the game that would jump at 6 million per year.
But WE yes WE are the only club that would put up with this.....baffling.

Andy Carrol in January it is then.

Anyone who is involved in the club that’s allowed this is on the border of negligence.

Sammy Lee!!!!! Oh my god we are going to allow fat boy to bring in this terrible human into the club?

Did we really bend over and say do what you want!
