Everton still aren't a serious club with real ambition, the list of candidates for the managers job says it all.

None of them except Ancelotti who is a long shot at best would have a prayer at getting a job at any of the current top 6 clubs if they needed a manager.

Big Sam? lol
Dyche? lol
Unsworth? lol

Those are all second rate mid table club appointments for a second rate mid table club, that could easily be a shortlist for Crystal Palace, Swansea or West Brom manager.

Yeah well that's what we are aren't we, a mid table (actually to call us mid table would be flattering) second rate pitiful shambles of a club. The likes of Ancelotti wouldn't touch us with a barge pole.Someone like Sam Allardyce will do fine until the end of the season, then hopefully with our premiership safety intact, we can readdress the situation in the summer and sort out this dogs dinner of a squad, that we spent 140 million pounds to construct.

Sad but we are playing at the level of Crystal Palace, Swansea and West Brom, we are in that ball park, which is why the likes of Ancelotti is unlikely and Dyche has ruled himself out, which says a lot

Not quiet official confirmation but the next best thing. ;) The next manager of Everton will be Sam Allardyce. Expect him to be in place after the international break.

Tbf to esk he called koeman way before anyone else, this giving him grief for last summer was a bit of naivety and players changing their minds.

Esk is an intelligent and passionate Evertonian who seems a gentleman but his 'itk' info seems to be misleading or completely wrong around 90% of the time.
Even when he's just giving his opinion he's consistently out of touch with realistic probability for example he was convinced Lu would stay but Barks go last summer.
It's baffling how a clearly intelligent guy can be wrong so often about a subject he's so familiar with.
I think it's partly due to his highly positive outlook that idealised Moshiri from the beginning as a saviour who could quickly land us the likes of Mourinho, Monchi, Dein, BP's Gilvary, a string of top players without selling our own and a super stadium all strictly without Usmanov money.
It's clear from the dramatic market movement that Allardyce is being seriously considered but this doesn't fit the above narrative so Esk definitively dismisses it.
If we do end up with Sam I suspect Esk will protect his perspective by transfering 'blame' unto Kenwright despite it being clear that Mosh makes the ultimate decision.

Allardyce must have asked for too much money yesterday so it's Dyche being sounded out today. Those two are the front runners now.

What do you feel? Do you reckon he could attract big names? Or are they giving him the chance due to having no money and the fact he has been working on a shoe string budget at Burnley for 5 years? If we appoint him I don’t know what to think of it tbh I don’t think he could make us a top 4 team. Worrying times

..I don’t think being a top 4 team is a concern at the moment. We are one bad appointment away from being a Championship team.

We’ve gone from trying to break into the top 6 to keeping out of the bottom 3 in 2 months.

Got nothing against Dyche, but if that’s the kind of manager we think we should have it shows where our boards ambitions lie.

The club is embarrassing itself yet again. Needs gutting from top to bottom.

I agree!! Let’s just hope he comes in and proves the doubters wrong and he makes us a tough team to break down and grind out 1-0 wins because a couple of scrappy wins and we will be out of this dog fight

...we need scrappy wins until the end of the season to ensure safety. 20 points at Christmas is minimum requirement and that looks a long way away.
