considering he only wants to consider an international position, then he might well be up for a short term, till end of season role with us.

it might actually suit both parties.

the fans would back him, knowing he's only here this season.

he might do very well with some actual money and surprise us fans (you never know)

if not, he will keep us up, and we have from now till may to find our next manager.

Watford have sacked there last few managers at the end of the season, no matter how they have performed. so marco silva may be available then.

I dare say in several months time, there will be a plethora of out of work managers available, and some who could be tempted by us anyway, not having to do a mid-season suicide switch.
This actually makes sense.

I hate myself for even thinking it though.

What have you done to me Everton?

What about the previous two defeats or team selections gives you that impression ? Was it losing to Chelsea reserves but trying or not laying a glove on a struggling Leicester ?

probably basis his sample on more than two games. i've seen people say we shouldn't get silva because he lost at home to stoke. i mean yeah, if we're going to nit pick like that, why should we both with mourinho? i know he's won everything but he lost to huddersfield.

Everton still aren't a serious club with real ambition, the list of candidates for the managers job says it all.

None of them except Ancelotti who is a long shot at best would have a prayer at getting a job at any of the current top 6 clubs if they needed a manager.

Big Sam? lol
Dyche? lol
Unsworth? lol

Those are all second rate mid table club appointments for a second rate mid table club, that could easily be a shortlist for Crystal Palace, Swansea or West Brom manager.

Right now we ARE a second rate club in many ways.

Worst stadium in the league, worst squad squad in the league and an owner (Moshiri) who has less money than the owner of West Brom.

Why the feeling we need a scrapper to get us out of this?

Get Big Sam or Sean Dyche in. They know the league etc.

Sam has a 32% winning record in his last 2 PL jobs (both regarded well) in his rescue jobs at Sunderland and Crystal Palace.

Dyche has a 25% winning record in his time in the PL.

Marco Silva came in with no PL experience and won 36% of his games at Hull.

Only Dyche and Allardyce in the world are able to sort a defence if you believe some of what you read. Any competent manager will shore up the defence, only a good one can get us to the point where the balance of defending/attaking is what we all want.

There should absolutely not be any short term thinking here.
