Yes, we are already blaming whatever guy is brought in to fix the mess.

Fact is, we are in a huge mess. Moshiri has not shown sufficient leadership and decisiveness and has not taken care to have his own people in key positions.

It was “as you were” from the off.

Looking forward to an appointment either way and getting behind the man tasked to sort us out. He has a huge job ahead.

Depends on Unsy now...if he can get anything positive from the next 3-4 games the talks of bringing a crisis manager may subside...

Allardyce has fostered that image of himself. It'd be a bit rich to be fed up with it. He's done very nicely out of it.

Overall though we are defo not in the 'must get a fire-fighter' zone yet. If we get one in now it'll tell you exactly what sort of character Moshiri is.

Im not so sure to be honest, im not wholly against the idea of an interim fire fighter, i prefer tried and trusted on a short term basis to being a victim of timing and who is available lets be frank the start on Nov isnt a great time to be looking for a new manager and picking are slim.

Please tell me there was no truth in that Guardian story saying Nuno (Wolves boss) was offered the Everton job only to reject it?

It would mean whoever gets it now would only be 2nd choice at best.

What if Unsworth leads you to a 2-0 win over Watford at the weekend?:)

Course he has Dave, he's good at it... never been relegated.
Whether anybody likes him or not, that fact is inarguable.

I'd be neither thrilled nor distraught at Dyche coming in, but I'd hate Allardyce for all sorts of reasons. (A few more wins and I might be begging him to join, of course). While I can understand a firefighter may be attractive, I think, though, that it's time for Moshiri to be brave and decisive. I don't blame him for appointing Koeman - it looked a fair enough decision at the time, and few people get things right first off. But for the life of me I don't understand why he has let things slide off the pitch. I know he has made moves for a new ground, which is terrific, but hand-in-hand with that should have gone a complete appraisal of every other aspect of the business. If this mooted root and branch overhaul doesn't happen, along with a managerial appointment of vision, then things will only get worse.

I'd agree, lose tonight, and whatever moves are afoot to get a manager in are just cranked up another gear.

I can see us (somehow) beating Watford on Sunday, for it to be his last game.

You get that quirk of fate at times in a caretaker role.

I'd still hope in way that he could make it his, but Leicester did him a lot of damage, I think the dye is cast.

We're a few points off mid-table. It is very early to be writing off the possibility that we can start our journey back under a new long term manager.

The season is over from a competitive success angle; it need not be over in terms of making the right choice to see us roaring back next season under a manager who has a vision and a method and a long term commitment to us.

Allardyce on a temp until the end of the season is a waste imo. We aren't great right now but I feel that we're panicking too early, we still have a good team with players returning from injuries and a transfer window to come.

Things will improve, simply because they must.

I'm sure he'd get us to safety. But I'd say even at this low point that is a low bar to set.

We cant let a bad situation get worse by destroying the morale of a club with a desperate appointment of that nature. It'll set us back years...relegation will too, of course, but we are miles off this course of action to arrest the slide.
