....yet you want us to wait until January???

No. I want a long-term credible option pursued and gotten asap. BUT if the plan is that we keep Uns on until January and find ourselves in or around the danger zone THEN we go for someone that can fight a relegation battle.

..I think Benitez has done a terrific job at Newcastle. His family still live local but there is probably too much baggage following his time with the Reds.

Sorry, you misunderstood. I wasn't advocating for Benitez himself. I'm not quite at that stage just yet. I meant someone of that ilk - a proven manager that can elevate us in the long-term regardless if we limp through the rest of this one.

It's gonna be dyche innit. Let's all just hope he can play a more progressive style of footy next season once he's stabilised us this season.

While I'm not convinced it'll happen, looking at the bigger picture it'd be encouraging for British coaching in general if he can succeed with better resources and players.

Just as an example Joe, about £30 has just made Dyche the fav on the Exchange.

You'd be mad to bet on it at the moment when even the Everton board have no one they really want to appoint.
our past two full time appointments were never the top favourites that's my point - OK maybe different circumstances may make the media, bookies correct now about in the past RM, and RK never started or were odds on favourites to get the job, but they did - the only manager reported to want to be in the Job are Unsworth and big Sam - dyche is playing his cards close to his chest as he should as he is employed - just expect a maybe shock candidate to emerge?

This squad have stopped playing for two different managers now.
Whoever we appoint as our next manager should have exceptional man management skills because failure to get a grip of the dressing room will see us relegated. I think that more than one of the senior players have contributed to the situation we now find ourselves in and should also follow RK out of the club.
These players are payed handsomely to do a job but are only putting in 50% effort. Our fans and especially the ones who travel to away matches deserve so much more.
Sean Dyche has done a good job at Burnley. Yes they were relegated but came straight back up and are now looking like a solid outfit, without spending huge amounts of cash

THIS. Go and get him quick.

..and the significant challenge is finding somebody of that type.

He's a much better option than Dyche and the 'saviour'. The fact a lot can't see past his 'baggage' even though he'd do a job says it all.

A friend bumped into Elstone on the train shortly after Koeman was sacked and the plan was ‘see how it goes with Unsworth’. Knew then that these clueless clowns had just pressed the panic button with no long-term plan. Can’t believe the lack of foresight. This was supposed to have changed under Moshiri.

that ties in with what a mate told me, that basically Koeman was sacked because the board feared it would get too hostile keeping him in charge not because they actually wanted to get rid of him or had some plan in place.

Not true - when word leaked they were in the final parts of negotiation, they went odds-on.

Suntan is not going to tell a stranger on a train the truth.

Nah, I'm with @bluestevon on this. There has to be some standards and if we give in and appoint Allardyce we've just become A. N. Other club that doesn't really have an identity. The man is a crook and we're simply making him a richer crook.

It's not even speculative; he got caught in the sting that cost him the England job, he was heavily hinted at in the Panorama doc that he was up to no good, and even that video of Steve Kean drunk he is called a 'crook' directly.

We either have some standards, or we don't have any and we'll be hiring whatever the El-Hadji Djouf equivalent today is (a man who Allardyce signed twice).
Wow....remember him Steve Kean....another example not to promote from within.
Goes with the Les Read's, Craig Shakespear's & Steve Wigley's.
Got to get the very best man for the job no matter what it takes.
And NO Big Sam ,Dyche or a washed up ex Everton manager that's being touted.

Show some bloody ambition eh.
