Have faith man. This is fixable. Our defensive options may not be everything that we'd wish for but they're better than they were last season, the players just need a bit better organisation, more consistency in selection, and hopefully we'll see the confidence coming back. Unsworth and Stubbsy know what good defending looks like, given a bit of time they should be capable of tightening up our defence.
But that’s exactly my point! Unsworth has shown basic defensive errors in his set up in open play and set plays.

Unsworth is a cracking lad but we can't appoint someone just because they're a blue.

If he was the caretaker manager at another club would we be clamouring for him to be appointed? I'm not so sure.

I was initially in favour of him being given the role on a permanent basis, but looking at his record... ...it's not exactly brilliant.

He's a wool though...so he fits the bill

The comments by Joe Royle on the official site today may be significant.
I expect that Bill Kenwright would listen to and be influenced by the opinion of Joe Royle , but maybe Moshiri may not to the same extent. Joe Royle certainly would appear to be a supporter of Unsworth.

I think that if there is any chance of a really high profile coming to the club at some future date then we could see David Unsworth and John Ebbrell staying in charge until the summer.
I the chances of Dyche or Allyrdyce coming are slim now. I think we will see in the next couple of days if there is any substance to the Silva rumours and I don't think they can be discounted.
Of course the elephant in the room here is what input,if any, Steve Walsh has in all of this.

Said it weeks ago but Reid Jewell Dave jones etc are all more experienced and 'blues' yet if I started a thread asking for one of them to come in I would be laughed off the site.

If it wasn't unsworth and it was just another under 23 manager from somewhere , not a single person would even want them coming here citing lack of experience and need someone better.

Hypocrisy at the very least

Yes and if we had employed one of Hodgson, Puel or Moyes there would be a mutiny on their hands. I would rather take our time and weigh up all options that get some no mark in like those three
I'll take that up again after the West Ham and Palace games, the Leicester game is done and dusted

Indeed.

Walsh having a major say in the matter worries me :(
