Fired Spartak coach Unai Emery has said he regrets failing to communicate well enough with the team during his five months as in charge of the Russian football club.

Emery lost his job Sunday after Spartak were drubbed 1−5 by Dynamo Moscow in a derby clash, with his predecessor Valery Karpin stepping in to take the team through their last two games of the year.

“For me, as for Spartak, one obstacle has been communication,” Emery said on his website Tuesday.

“A good connection is very important for the transfer of idea, to map out how to work and how to play, feelings and emotions.”

He's getting fed up of having to sell his best players, they were in the Champions league last season when he came and spoke to West Ham. I think he will move on soon, lets at least ask the guy!

You can't help but admire the guy. His team were dead and buried at half time, barely got a kick. I'd love to know what he said at half time, while since I've seen such a transformation in a game. Totally out thought klopp. Love how animated he was in the touch line driving the team on, not only are him and Jose winners, they show real passion and our crowd would feed off that.

Emery - young manager, still hungry, no major meltdowns, brings young players through. I don't think Mourinho could do much better than he has at Sevilla with a big negative net spend.

That's fair enough. Mourinho still my number one like regardless of how unlikely it seems, big difference to who we where linked to last time. Good times.
