My original pick was Pellegrini and I was surprised at the reaction of disappointment from our fans.

There's not often a Premier League and two time domestic cup winner becomes available, I mean imagine if we had poached him last season - everyone would have been buzzing. Not to mention his excellent record before City.

But the more I think about him, he's a bit too Martinez for me. Really nice, polite, doesn't really have a plan B, and his teams can put in absolute stinkers when it really matters. Obviously a lot more successful, but I think our players don't need anymore misplaced encouragement, positivity and letting them do whatever they won't without fear of repercussions.

"Don't worry about giving the ball away on the edge of your box again John, I promise you're a phenomenal player in a really good moment. Just keep doing what you're doing."

So is Ranieri mate.

Martinez' problem isn't that he's nice. It's that he's clueless.

That's very true.

But I just think after the relentless and unfounded positivity the players have been subjected to it might be good for them to be told some hard hitting truths. I don't know, I think any of the above will be improvements on Martinez, who in all honestly, did a poor job.

Hopefully early next week we'll know who's our new Manager and can go from there :-) Don't want to be waiting until next month for someone :-( Hopefully it'll be Jose but if De Boer is available now I'd take him and risk the "non premiership" experience he has rather than Koeman who'll cost more too :-( rather waste money on a player than a manager :-)

Its quite obvious in my eyes the way its playing out..
Lets look at the facts.

Utd want Jose and LVG, they cant decide, Everton want Jose as first choice, Koeman second.
Jose wants UTD first, Everton second.
Koeman has met Saints this week, nothing has come out, i.e. new contract. Quite obvious he wants to speak to us.

The sooner UTD sort out theres, the sooner we do too.

My thinking exactly.
