Oh well.Nice while it lasted!

Much as I wanted Jose as a big statement of intent,it was always worrying of the circus that would follow!

He probably wasn't what we needed right now.We need someone to stabilise and rebuild the club.

Many of the names mentioned are more than capable of that and something to be excited about.

To think that we were actually talking about Jose just shows how our ambitions have changed in such a short time.
'he's probably wasn't what we need right now'. I'm sorry he's exactly what we needed. A proven winner to take our club to the next level, but it was always going to be a long shot given Uniteds interest.

Regarding Moyes we won't have any players left if he took charge if bids came in:

David Moyes says Everton are blocking careers of United targets Fellaini and Baines
DAVID MOYES has accused his former club Everton of blocking the careers of Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines.

"He said: “I definitely do. But I also know that if I’d been Everton manager and Sir Alex Ferguson had come asking for Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, I’d have found it very difficult to keep them, because I always felt the right thing to do was what was right for the players.”

This should not be forgotten

Whoever is manager, or on the playing staff next season, you have to WANT to give your all. Not see the club you are employed by as a stepping stone. Leicester proved what the sum of the parts giving their all can achieve. I only want people who have a long term aim of making Everton great.

If Mourinho has gone to Utd and Lukaku, Stones etc do not want to represent Everton with total pride and effort then jog on. I expect big changes this summer and I am certain our new owner will not take any more half baked effort on or off the pitch. NSNO.

Welcome Frank ;)

Never wanted Jose anyway :coffee:

From Dan Roan BBC on Mourinho

"In February BBC Sport revealed that United had held talks with Jose Mourinho's representatives, and they have now come to fruition.

"Ed Woodward - and United's American owners, the Glazer family - still hoped Louis van Gaal would lead the club to a top four finish, and up until last month Mourinho's advisers were concerned the club might remain loyal to the Dutch coach"

Tally's in with what @The Esk was saying, sugests we did have a slim chance of getting him..

Well, you now where I'm coming from.

Gutted and trying to make the best of it!

But whoever comes in next, its going to be an exciting summer ;)
