Collapsed is a little dramatic - there was mutual interest but ultimately Koeman has sights on bigger things 12 months down the line. There were never any guarantees.

Similarly with Emery, he's expressed interest in managing in the PL, he'll have by now had the full Moshiri pitch which is a highly attractive one but it's down to him. His people are meeting the club today so there's clearly interest.I believe he has a buy out clause in his contract so if he wants to come to us the process should be relatively simple.

But there are no guarantees, there never are.
By law everyone has a buyout clause in Spain.

Whether or not it is harder to make the top ten of the EPL now than it was even three years ago is indeed a matter of opinion.

I reckon it is....you reckon it isn't.

No worries :)

The point I was making and why I stated my belief about it being more difficult then than now, was that contrary to what the poster I was replying to believes, there is no guarantee that Moyes would have us in that top half of the table.

None whatsoever.

Coming late to this, but I'd guess it's about as hard making the top 10 as it's ever been in the PL.

Being that there are still 20 squads and 10 is still 10.

If we don't get either Unai or Koeman I hope the board takes a few weeks to step back and draw up a new list of candidates.

Pellegrini doesn't seem to be an option for them- or at least one they are that keen on - so let's wait for the summer tournaments to finish and have another look.

Give a DoF role to Big Joe and preseason will take care of itself.

That's Pure Everton That.

Don't know about the mole but I think Esk is a PR employee at the club and he's letting us know with the their consent what we are up to behind the scenes and to stop us believing all the garbage written in the Echo. It's a bit like the matrix, it's a voice from the wilderness telling us the score. A bit like 'God/the Energy/the Amighty/the Source' giving you all the answers when your under the influence of psychedelic drugs:D
