Bit confused about this, did Emery turn us down or not?

Yes, by all accounts - or at least he mulled over our offer and said no - around the same time that rumours of the PSG interest surfaced, by the looks of it.

I think it's probably a case that, as Koeman had come back to us just before EMery said 'no', we didn't then push and go overboard on our offer for Emery (try to match any PSG wages etc...) as we could go and get Koeman - who was initially first choice anyway.

That proper fit Kate Abdo on Sky Sports News HQ pronounces our new leaders name 'Kerrman' - she's a cunning linguist, able to converse in a great many language. I hope Kerrman signs up some foreigners with some properly complex names, because even just the thought of Abdo wrapping her tongue around some exotic lingo arouses me greatly...

Have you considered he learnt it?

No doubt he'll have improved over time living here but he certainly played on the language barrier during his stint at Southampton due to his distrust of the media. We are in a totally different place to what Spurs were we require a squad overhaul and judging by reports someone who can instill discipline/get his ideas across. I think if we were sat in 5th without this need to rebuild and get back up the table then Emery would have been the best choice but Koeman is proven and for me is the right candidate for the short term task ahead.

She has raised the game at SSN for hotness. Used to think Natalie Sawyer couldn't be beaten then they hired Abdo
