I just can't help having the feeling that we are going to pay 5m to Southampton and they are going to get Frank De Boer who will turn out to be a better manager.
Doesn't matter mate. If Koeman bombs and De Boer does really well, we'll just go and poach him in a year or two as well.

Can you imagine the absolute fume LOL

Think we payed 2m for Martinez. It was well worth it. Dave Whelan said so.

Look at this way - DeBoer was available for free, we have to pay for Koeman.

The fact that we're now prepared not to simply go with the cheapest option suggests to me that Koeman must have something about him, and that we really are undergoing a total change of operation.

I'd be like if someone who's career peak was stabilizing everton to midtable was hired at the biggest job in the world.
Only Evertonian's aren't happy to be midtable and don't except it, such was the vitriol last season.
Southampton are made up to be midtable and just be at the party.
Koeman is a good solid improvement on the badly decided Martinez tenure.
If he is pants he'll be moved on, if he's good then the club can attract better players and managers as a reflection of the recovery process.

6m a year. 5m compensation to Southampton.

Is Koeman really worth it?

We are now at a stage were we do not have to worry about money and try to balance our books. Just sit back and enjoy players coming in without fretting if it will destabilise us or it means we cannot buy without selling. Clear your mind an chill. No accountants needed on here anymore to tell us bad news. Oh and we can upgrade our lawnmowers also.

We'll see. A holiday could simply mean he's not involved in the discussions right now, as the deal has already been done?

Reckon that'll delay announcements? obviously he would probably want to be there for it - unless its a Mourinho esk appointment, sign the contract release a statement and then he'll speak to the media when he is back.
