Because he’s living in a beautiful, sunny city where his family are happy and settled, at a club where he is a legend as a player, where he is trusted and adored by the fans. Where he has built a title winning side that genuinely challenges the established order, with world class players a-plenty. He’ll only leave Atletico for a truly special proposition - PSG, Juve, Inter, Bayern or the top 6 here.

Everton would not only be a step down in terms of career, we are in total disarray, it would be career suicide.

He could build a Title winning side that challenges the established order here...that's his next challenge...in the Prem...here with us.

...and he'd be coming to the best League in the World where he could prove his own World Class managerial credentials. I'd say it's a perfect fit.

The goal here over the next 5 years isn’t to challenge for the title. That won’t happen irrespective of who we bring in.

The goal here is to break the top six again, not just once but consistently. I admire the ambition you’re showing but I don’t expect the club can or will match it, mate.

Simeone is an elite manager. Probably top 5 in the world right now. It would be career suicide for him to come here, especially when he could walk into the United or Spurs job in another few months.

I think Everton Football Club could challenge for the League Title within 3 years...look at Leicester as an example.

We just need to think big and appoint the right manager...an elite manager as you say.

It would be a backward step for him to go to Spurs and United will appoint Cantona as their next boss.

Leicester winning the league was an anomaly. But they are also a very well run Football club, which we are not, with a very good manager, which we do not have.

Spurs are a backward step from Atletico, but they are also a regular Champions League club with some top class players and a world class stadium. They are a far better proposition now than Everton will be for some time.
