Dunc's win has bought them time. They know they can wait and get it right, which frankly i'd rather they did. However, despite the dithering of Moshiri - i have 0 faith he will get the right appointment. This should be Brands' job and he should butt out until it's decision time.

It's not even time bought. It's befuddlement that due diligence wasn't taken care of before Silva's sacking. Unless they are waiting on an Ancelotti or Gallardo.

That's why we are being linked to loads of different managers with different styles.
Or we are being linked with these different managers because the press hasn’t a clue who the board is approaching and are creating click bait stories out of half truths and wild guesses.
I doubt the board is giving the press briefings of their search and will do so only when it has been decided.
Then we can judge them.

He isn't. But short term appointment is needed for me, Dunc or Moyes I'm not bothered. There is no obvious standout candidate I can see right now.
But Moyes is a failure. Don't give me all that nonsense about him having no money at Everton, I would expect any manager managing a club the size of Everton to achieve at least one trophy over an ELEVEN year period!! Look at all the poor clubs that won one in that time and since.

Seems to me that his defenders think that he is the right man because he 'knows the club'. Big whoop, why not other managers completely bereft of talent who that can apply to - Stubbs? Alan Irvine? The club will also have changed a lot since his time here, as has the league itself. His methods were completely outdated by the end of his Everton tenure and he has shown nothing in his subsequent managerial posts that would contradict that.

I think the amazing amount of passion and determination that Dunc got the team to demonstrate has distorted everyone's idea of Moyes' time in a positive way. We were mentally weak, pressed poorly, rarely tackled like we did on Saturday, played one man up top every week, were slow, sat too deep, allowed crosses to come in with ease, relied too heavily on attacking crosses into the box, played loyal yes men over younger hungrier players and only played youngsters when injuries forced us to.

Also, Dunc's positivity is absolutely not what Moyes was like. He was called dour Davey for a reason. He would kill player's and fan's enthusiasm with negative, defeatist comments and massaged expectations. Also, those people who think Moyes with Ferguson as no.2, grooming him to take over, have a look at yourselves! A man of Moyes' ego allowing that? Coping with having someone determined that we should be the best and more popular with the fans than him? Yeah right!

I agree that there is a major unknown quantity to these coaches we've been linked with, but that is a gamble worth taking if we want to improve - it might pay off. Whereas with Moyes, we know it wasn't good enough and was frustrating then, why would it be any better now? I personally think it would be more damaging and we would be worse off in the long run if we reappointed this loser.

I wasn't defending him or his career as such but saying he's an option him or Dunc for the rest of the season. Then we look for a long term manager when there are more choices. Some of the names being thrown around are gambles and we could go down if we don't play to our strengths.

As is Moyes. Anyone claiming otherwise has lost the plot. How is he not a gamble? Read my previous post. People are assuming what happened about 17 years ago would apply again. Howard Kendall would be a case in point of why this thinking is silly and he was 10 times the manager Moyes will ever be!
