Fair enough, I've no issue with somebody taking over for Chelsea, because no new broom is going to have time to do anything in 2 days. But we need to have a long term man in by next weekend. If only to commence moving on some dross and bringing in the start of his vision in January.

Basically, given that our board is in disarray, I reckon we need a manager who can get any side playing compact dogs of war type football. So for me that would be the likes of Benitez or Dyche. Not a fan of Dyche really but he’d make us hard to beat.

At this point I would hold my nose and take Moyes back, no compensation to be paid and immediately available. If he brings Cahill that might be a positive because he has a competitive outlook which is sadly lacking in the Club at the moment. Ideally I would prefer a more ambitious appointment, but I don't think anyone decent will come until we have re-established ourselves as a credible prem side.
