I know it's optimistic but we're capable of fifteen points there if we can keep everyone fit. It's a big ask and probaby too much to expect but fourth is not out of the equation. Remember all these around us have to start playing in Europe again. We need to take advantage of that imo.

Depends on what happens tomorrow...if we sign Negredo, we'll finish 4th in a walk. Spurs will bottle it. Arsenal don't have it.

Definitely optimistic but you do have a point about the rest in Europe, could play into our hands massively

This was my first reaction. They'll most likely get beat at city but I can't see them losing any of the others. Spurs always crap themselves at Anfield worse than us

If we want to get fourth rather than just to finish above the RS then we need Spurs to lose that game anyway.

What if we do though?

Seriously though, I don't necessarily think we'll get it, but I dont know why everyone is acting like Chelsea are nailed on for 3rd place. They're only 4 points ahead of Spurs, their home form isn't good and they're dropping points all over the place. Benitez was meant to tighten up their defence but they've only kept one clean sheet in the last 6.

Their next 7 league games:

Newcastle (A)

Wigan (H)

Man City (A)

West Brom (H)

Fulham (A)

West Ham (H)

Southampton (A)

Could see a loss at City, and draws to WBA, WHU, and Southampton. I don't think predicting them to get around 13 points from the next 21 is that out there.

We won't be higher than 4th and we won't be lower than 6th. I'll go for midpoint and say 5th.
But it will be tight all the way to the end of the season.

As a side note, when we finished 4th in 04/05, we had 44 points after 24 games - we have 41 now. (dammit, fulham late goal!)
However, we were clean 4th already with a lot of room - 6 points up and 6 points down to 3rd and 5th respectively.
