Why would a team that people are 'bored of' get such high viewing figures?
The answer is of course, they aren't bored at all, but simply consumed by rage, jealousy and hate.
I think Nick Wright on FTF is pretty spot on with his analysis. There is an incredibly vocal section of the internet that fixate on every tiny moment in a game that they perceive to have gone the Chiefs' way, and it has now reached the point of poisoning the conversation around them.
It's been picked up by commentators and sports pundits and they're running it in the general media now. These are people who should know better, but they are probably aware of how much eyes it will put on their product. It's a bit like the conversation around the Patriots (who actually cheated egregiously on occasion), except the internet has magnified it x1000.
I don't think the general public or casual NFL viewer hate the Chiefs at all. This will be a celebrated team that will be rightfully lauded as one of the best ever. Tbh, the only reason I expressed dislike for them on this forum for the last couple of years was because you liked them
